My name is Catalina; I am a Bachelor of Community Studies with three area majors: Political Science, Environment and Communication candidate. My strong research background and work ethic are key contributions to my role as Research Assistant and Production Assistant for the collaboration between iCreate Cape Breton and Tar City Productions.
This project is a wonderful application of my previous film skills, my research background and my interest for the arts. As research assistant, I will be collecting ethnographic data through the entirety of the pre-production, production and post-production process of Bigsby. The data collected will contribute to the continuing research for the Pilot Project focusing on the theme of slow violence, conducted by Dr. Marcia Ostashewski and Dr. Sheila Christie. As Production Assistant, I will be responsible for various tasks that may range from office administration, on-set organization, public relations, coordinate extras, actors, and props, and so on. Although the responsibility that comes with each of these roles is quite high, I am up for the challenge.
I am very eager to see what this project has in store for all of us!
